Training events are kicked off with ‘Pond Management’
A successful first training day was held on the 29th October, the free training session was well attended with 20 participants learning how best to manage a pond.
The day was led by FWAG, and course speakers included Jane Atkinson (FWAG) and Pete Tonge (BTCV). Andy Harmer (Ecologist) also provided everyone with a comprehensive guide to the management of ponds.
Following lunch, 4 ponds where visited in the afternoon to look at various stages of in the life of a pond. The Warburtons at Hatley Farm provided the venue for the afternoons site visits, transporting guests on their specially designed trailer. Andy led discussions on best practice and carried out some pond dipping.
